Goal Oriented Practice
I have the pleasure of watching most of the junior golfers in Laredo practice on a daily basis. I watch closely and learn all I can from the kids. There is a variety of skill levels from the beginner to the kid competing to advance to the state tournament. I have also been blessed to work individually with some of the better golfers in our area. I regularly see very unorganized, non effective practice routines.
My message for improvement remains the same ......practice with a purpose! Recently I made one of my students purchase a diary and before each practice session write down one thing she would like to accomplish for that particular day, go out and work on it, and then sit and cool down by documenting on how focused and effective she was in accomplishing her goal.
This creates a trackable, daily goal oriented practice routine that keeps you focused and always having a purpose in mind. I tell my students we should strive to improve on our skills on a daily basis and be organized.
